Medeama SC are among some of the clubs struggling to find their gel in the Ghana premier league. With lots of teams parting ways with their managers, Medeama SC coach Mr. Samuel Boadu named his starting lineup against Kotoko as he sets up his team to winning ways.
Kick off was not a coach Boadu would have wanted as the visitors at Tarkwa handed the game as though they were the home team. Kotoko has been a tougher opponent for many premier league clubs and Medeama SC was certainly not an exception.
Both teams in their bid to claim maximum points in the game saw both managers throwing in more attackers and also allowed the game to flow. It ended goalless as the referee blew the whistle for the first half with both managers looking anxious to get their teams in the dressing rooms for further instructions.
The beginning of the second half saw more urgency and purpose from both sides as they looked to do little but push the ball into the opposition half.
In the 74’, the hard work of the porcupine warriors paid off as Kwame Poku bagged the opener for Asante Kotoko. With the porcupine warriors holding on keenly, Medeama SC struck back with an equally better performance of the entire game and in the 85’ it paid off as Abass Mohammed converted from the spot kick.
It all ended in a draw with Asante Kotoko currently on the 6th position on the league log. Kotoko has picked 9 points out of 18 after 6 games and Medeama SC shares points with Eleven Wonders, Aduana Stars and Liberty Professionals all on 7 points after 6 games.
