Fatau Dauda after his recent drift from the Ghana Black Stars team was called back during the AFCON qualifier against Sudan. This followed injury and COVID-19 cases recorded by the second choice Razak Abelora currently of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

Legon Cities Fc have not won a game since the beginning of the Ghana Premier league and have been anxious due to the impatience of their fans. The splashing of cash on branding and player signings has drawn vast expectations to the club and pressure on their players.

After signing with a new coach, Legon Cities sure had to go through that transition of tactical awareness as the new coach needs time to examine his players available and also which formation will best suit the style of play.

With the GPL Week-5 underway at the Accra Sports Stadium, both Legon Cities and Krobea Kumasi Asante Kotoko hoped to record their first win of the campaign. A win for either side will boost their morale especially Kotoko as they prepare for the CAF Champions league against Al Hilal.

The game started at 18hrs GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium and it only took the Ghana reps at the CAF competition 11 minutes to open the scoring. Osman Ibrahim who scored for Kotoko in the CAF competition placed the porcupine warriors in from and now has 2 goals and an assist. A goal that has earned his side all three points in the Ghana Premier League.

Osman Ibrahim was substituted after picking up an injury, but his goal meant a lot for his team.

Goalkeeper Fatau Dauda after the 11’ came into the game with some stunning save that would have cost his side. With his awareness, the Legon Cities Fc skipper saved shoots both from close range and engaged in one-on-one golden opportunities by the opposition and saved his goal post.

With his enormous efforts, he was adjudged the MVP at the end of the game with no contemplation whatsoever. With many players from both side commending his effort on the day, it was evident all and sundry were okay with him winning the MVP even though his side lost to rather hungrier Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
