The life of a Ghanaian Journalist – Edward Okyere is at stake for revealing the name of the alleged killer of a famous Kotoko supporter Francis Yaw Frimpong, who is affectionately known as Nana Pooley.
Pooley met his untimely death after being stabbed during a Ghana Premier League game [matchweek 19] involving Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko at the Nana Kromansah Park in Nsoatre on February 3, 2025.
The sad incident occurred during an altercation between some of the officials and the supporters of both clubs in the second half.
But before calm could be restored, the young and energetic Pooley who had been following Asante Kotoko to every game this season was found lying down helplessly.
In an attempt to save his life, his body was rushed to the Sunyani Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Because of how swift the incident occurred, it was difficult for people to finger who the actual killer of Pooley was.
In fact, media reports from different outlets could not mention the name of the alleged killer of Pooley.
However, Edward Okyere, who works with Media 24 revealed the identity of the alleged murderer as Briamah, who has since been on the run.
The revelation by Okyere has become an albatross on his neck as some supporters of Nsoatreman who were not happy with his reportage have sworn to deal with him, including ending his life for what they refer to as misleading publication and trying to tarnish the image of the people of Nsoatre.
According to our investigations, Edward Okyere has not been able to sleep in his house ever since he revealed the name of the alleged murderer who we are told has been put on the wanted list of the Ghana Police Service.
www.sportspreviewghana.com can further reiterate that the Edward Okyere has moved out of Kumasi to Accra for the fear of losing his life.
