ACCRA GREAT OLYMPICS LOSE THEIR FIRST GPL GAME AGAINST TACTICAL WAFA

Accra Great Olympics traveled to Sogakope where they were hosted by WAFA in the Ghana premier league fixture for the match wk-5.

Drawing the league opener against Real Tamale United, Accra Great Olympics went on to win their next two fixtures against Accra Lions and Legon Cities before sharing the spoils with Dreams FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Traveling to WAFA in the Ghana Premier league with the hope of positive results has always difficult difficult for many clubs including Accra Hearts of Oak, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and the likes.

WAFA at home have always been brilliant and they always give their visitors a taste of good football on their sweet pitch.

Accra Great Olympics from the start of the first half remained composed and did not play into the WAFA philosophy. They stood their grounds and controlled the game when it was necessary with WAFA having majority of possession which was always normal at Sogakope.

The first half ended barren with both sides playing shy of their opponents pole. The midfield tassel kept Great Olympics in the game as they were able to stop WAFA when they break.

The second half continued same as Great Olympic were able to hold WAFA with some impressive saves from both goalkeepers.

In the 90+6 minutes of the games, everything changed when WAFA were awarded a spot kick.

Great Olympics were so close to sharing the spoils until the penalty was awarded to the hosts. Justus Torsutsey took responsibility and converted it expertly to break the virginity of the game after which the referee whistled for the end of proceeding.

Accra Great Olympics after five (5) games have won two (2), drawn two (2) and lost one (1) recoding eight (8) points on the league log and currently sit forth on the league table with other GPL games scheduled for tomorrow.
