The Basketball Africa League (BAL) (BAL.NBA.com) unveiled a refurbished basketball court on Sunday, Jan. 22, at the Noah Country Club in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
The refurbishment is a collaboration between the BAL and the Noah’s Arc Foundation and is part of their commitment to providing safe places where youth can learn and play the game of basketball.
As part of the inauguration ceremony, NBA Academy Africa Associate Technical Director Joe Touomou hosted a Youth clinic for 63 young boys and girls from Yaoundé and a Coaches Clinic for 65 local coaches.
“I encourage the young players to take advantage of this beautiful space and the opportunity to play the game with one another. The values they learn on the court – teamwork, leadership, and respect – will help them no matter what they choose to do in life”, said BAL President Amadou Gallo Fall.
The third BAL season will tip off on Saturday, March 11 and will once again feature the top 12 club teams from 12 African countries playing a total of 38 games in Dakar, Senegal (March 11-21); Cairo, Egypt (April 26 – May 6) and Kigali, Rwanda (May 21-27) over three months in 2023.
Fans can register their interest in tickets at BAL.NBA.com.
