The Three Lions of England are gradually becoming the headless lions as they have proven to be too tame to haunt. The UEFA nations league fixture between England and Greece was an early call for many football lovers but the underdogs have always proven to be potent when it comes to neutralizing threats.

The game which started with names including Alexander-Arnold, John Stones, Declan Rice, Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham, Anthony Gordon among other could not produce any positive results.

England and its players have been over hyped and these become clear when they meet teams that many see as walkovers. With a worse prediction being a 2-0 win for England by many, Greece had their own predictions on the field of play.

The starts of the game was normal as would expect with England holding on to possession and making Greece run around but that didn’t take long when Jordan Pickford started making silly errors that could have cost his team in the early minutes of the game.

Greece started getting to the game as they had studied the play pattern of England and started to catch them on the break.

The first half ended in a draw with Greece making attempts at the England goal and were unlucky as their first was ruled off. The second half showed how overhyped the England team has grown into and needs to work. Greece who came in as underdogs stun the Three lions 4minutes into the second half and got fans wondering what was becoming of their beloved team.

Greece held onto their lead and played with caution going forward. Lee Carsley, the England coach after realizing his team was falling short brought on Noni Maduake and Ollie Watkins who have been saviors in previous games and it almost paid off.

87 minutes into the game, Ollie Watkin provided the assist for England’s equalizer and it was none other than Jude Bellingham who put the ball across the Greek post.

Just as many feared, England were not looking fierce and Greeks realized it and continued to push the ball against them, it was added time and many though England would salvage a point in the game.

The referee who was waiting to blow his whistle for the end of the game blew to the centre line as Vangelis Pavlidis who scared the opener for Greece grabbed a late winner for the Greeks in the 94th minute.

The fans could not believe their eyes, the Greeks proved to be the hunters as they took two lion heads homes. Now the England team has one lion head hanging.

The joy the erupted in from the limited Greece fans in the Wembley Stadium was nothing but amazing knowing their team came to fight and fought a good fight
