The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) have announced that the 29th Ordinary Session of Congress will take place on Thursday, July 6, 2023.

The decision was reached during the Council’s meeting held at the GFA Headquarters in Accra.

In accordance with Article 31(2) of the GFA Statutes 2019, which grants the Executive Council the authority to determine the date and venue of Congress, the announcement was made.

The GFA Statutes further stipulate that Congress should convene in an Ordinary Session before the start of each football season.

To comply with Article 31(3) of the GFA Statutes 2019, a written Convocation of Congress will be circulated to GFA Members at least seven (7) days prior to the scheduled date.

This Convocation will include the Agenda, Activity Report, Financial Statements, Auditors’ Report, and any other relevant documents.

The 29th Ordinary Session of Congress is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.

Congress serves as a vital platform for the GFA, where important decisions and discussions concerning Ghanaian football are conducted.

YAOUNDÉ, Cameroon, January 24, 2023/ -- The Basketball Africa League (BAL) (BAL.NBA.com) unveiled a refurbished basketball court on Sunday Jan. 22 at the Noah Country Club in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The refurbishment is a collaboration between the BAL and the Noah’s Arc Foundation and part of their commitment to provide safe places where youth can learn and play the game of basketball. As part of the inauguration ceremony, NBA Academy Africa Associate Technical Director Joe Touomou hosted a Youth clinic for 63 young boys and girls from Yaoundé and a Coaches Clinic for 65 local coaches. “I encourage the young players to take advantage of this beautiful space and the opportunity to play the game with one another. The values they learn on the court – teamwork, leadership, and respect – will help them no matter what they choose to do in life”, said BAL President Amadou Gallo Fall. The third BAL season will tip off on Saturday, March 11 and will once again feature the top 12 club teams from 12 African countries playing a total of 38 games in Dakar, Senegal (March 11-21); Cairo, Egypt (April 26 – May 6) and Kigali, Rwanda (May 21-27) over three months in 2023. Fans can register their interest in tickets at BAL.NBA.com.
