
Athletics legend, Edwin Moses has addressed his expectations for Ghana as host of the 13th African Games which officially commences on Friday, March 8 at the University of Ghana Stadium.
He made his address in an interview during the Victory in Unity event held at the above mentioned venue with Sports Equity Lab founder Professor Dr. Yetsa Tukornu-Wosornu and celebrated Ghanaian wheelchair athlete Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe.
400 Metre Hurdle great, Moses, touched on the length of time it has taken for Ghana to host the multi-sport competition for the first time.
“I know that it’s a great event. It’s been a long time coming here to Ghana so I think automatically it’s going to be successful, it’s in a good year. It’s an Olympic qualifiers for some athletes so I just hope that event goes off smoothly and the athletes get the chance to compete.”


Athletics is one of seven sports disciplines that fall under the 2024 Paris Olympic qualifier category with the likes of cycling, triathlon, wrestling and table tennis.
