The Ghana black satellites team have been crowned champions of the men’s football tournament at the ongoing 13th African Games competition.
The Ghanaian youngsters defeated Uganda by a lone goal on Friday night to secure gold in a game played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday night
A Late strike from striker Jerry Afriyie won the game fro the black satellites after countless miss opportunities.
The game looked like it was heading to an injury time before Afriyie found the back of the net with a powerful shot beyond the reach of the Ugandan shot stopper who had been brilliant on the day.
Despite the good displays of the two finalists, neither side could score until added time of the second half when the deadlock was broken.
Black Satellites forward Jerry Afriyie picked a pass form the edge of the Uganda box and fired an unstoppable low drive that found the back of the net to win the game for Ghana.
The victory gives the Black Satellites the gold medal in the men’s football tournament at the 13th African Games.
The same feat was achieved by the Black Princesses on Thursday night when they beat Nigeria 2-1 to win gold in the women’s football tournament.
