Gladson Awako after having a wonderful premier league season captaining Accra Great Olympics in the 2020/2021 league season and winning for himself numerous MOTM awards including finding himself been nominated for various award categories including the player of the season.
Some of his remarkable stints include a stunner against Accra Hearts of Oak from a freekick, among some spectacular rocketing goals during that season.
The seasoned playmaker and Olympics talisman gained traction from numerous clubs both in Ghana and abroad as well as a call up into the Ghana national team, the Black Stars under coach Charles Kwabena Akonnor era.
Right after Accra Hearts of Oak won the Ghana Premier League and doubled it with the MTN FA Cup and gaining automatic qualification to represent Ghana at the CAF Champions league, Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak started to scout for players to add to their team in other to strengthen some positions before the competition begins.
One of their target signings was the playmaker and talisman of Accra Great Olympics, Gladson Awako.
Gladson Awako signed for Accra Hearts of Oak after his imminent move to the club was rumored over a short period of time but the talisman. Awako in the wake of events has since been unable to make an appearance for his new club after disclosing he had some personal issues to attend to.
In recent development, Coach Annor Walker, the head coach of Accra Great Olympics disclosed his conversation with Gladson Awako stating, 
“Awako has informed me that he is not happy and don’t want to play for Accra Hearts of Oak again so I’m doing everything possible to bring him back to Olympics. He said he is not ready to play for Hearts of Oak again and he wishes he is with me so am talking to Olympics management to try and bring him back.”
Gladson Awako has proved beyond doubt that he is a phenomenal player and can play at the highest level. Football lovers and supporters of Awako and Accra Great Olympics would love to see the playmaker get on the pitch and thrill them with skill and entertain fans.
