Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak after battling to settle for a coach who can take the team forward have parted ways with many coaches including Kim Grant, Edward Nii Odoom, and Kosta Papic after which Samuel Nii Noi took charge as the interim manager for the club.

Not long after Nii Noi took charge, the management of Accra Hearts of Oak requested the services of Coach Samuel Boadu, former gaffer of Medeama FC who agreed to the contractual terms to become the head coach of the rainbow family.

Short after joining Accra Hearts of Oak, his former assistant coach, Hamza Obeng joined his and the pair started transforming Accra Hearts of Oak to the Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak of old. It become fun watching the rainbow boys display on the pitch as the tactics of their new gaffer had an impact on each and every game.

The pair showed commitment to the club and ensured they took the club to win the Ghana Premier League cup and doubles their trophy for the season after winning the MTN FA cup in addition.

Qualifying the team to the CAF champions league, Coach Boadu and Hamza Obeng have assured the rainbow family of success as they are putting in all the training and making all necessary arrangements before each game.

Starting their CAF opener against CI Kamsar of Guinea in a one off tie due to political unrest in the country, Accra Hearts of Oak welcomed their counterparts at the Accra Sports Stadium where they beat CI Kamsar 2-0 to qualify to the next stage.

Hearts of Oak was drawn against Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco, the first leg saw Accra Hearts of Oak hosting the Moroccans at the Accra Sports Stadium where the continental club masters showed their level of commitment and determination defeating Wydad Athletic Club by a loan goal.

Their performance was noticed by many as other including the MP for Ningo Prampram, Hon. Sam Nartey George threw jabs at Angolan Referee Helder Martins Rodrigues De Carvalho for bad officiating.

With a return leg to be played in Morocco, many have counted Accra Hearts of Oak out of the tournament saying it is doom for the Ghanaian reps when they travel, but the tactical gaffer and his assistant have assured Ghanaians and Accra Hearts of Oak fans not to worry as he reiterated, “We played without looking at what the referee was going to do, we prepared for the game and we got the result, those counting us out of the competition should relax, we will go to Morocco and make Ghana proud”.

His words have fallen on fertile hearts as he has demonstrated over the period that he is a tactical genius and can adapt when the need arise.
