Baffour Soccer Academy is owned by owned by Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah – Minister of Employment – boasts of over 65 players in the U15 and U17 division with several others in the U10 and U13 divisions.
Their consistent performance saw to their promotion to the Ghana Division League where the team shared much delight about. In their bid to strengthen their squad and form a team ready for the start of the league, Baffour Soccer Academy planned in Accra.
However, the pre-season tour of the club was cut short following an unfortunate incident. The teams bus veered from its lane to collide with another bus coming from the Accra to Kumasi stretch causing fatal injuries.
The driver of the bus died on the spot as the others on the bus received help and were subsequently a=taken to the hospital for treatment.
The coach of the team and the head of communication were rushed to the hospital after sustaining serious injuries and were currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
Sad news reaching the football fraternity this morning is that, Richard Kweku Adjei the head of communications and sports journalist based in Sunyani who was receiving treatment has passed on.
The vibrant sports journalist and host of ‘Anupa Bosuo Sports’ on Bono and Ahafo Tv in the Bono Region threw in the towel while on hospital bed this morning and has left the sporting family in Ghana with tears and emotions.
