The anticipation to see Accra Lions put the game to sleep in the early stages of the GPL fixture was on the rise as the home team continued to pile pressure on the Elmina Sharks goals.
The resumption of the second half followed suit until the oldies stepped on their paddles to give Accra Lions a run for their money.

It was not all up for grabs as the experienced Elmina Sharks and their coach Nii Odartey Lamptey pushed for a second but did not find the back of the net.
Accra Lions staged a determined comeback with Elmina Sharks hoping to hold on to their lead. Their persistent effort paid off as Salifu Rauf of Accra Lions drew parity for his team in the 83rd minute.
It remains one-all as Accra Lions held on to the equalizer with Elmina Sharks fighting for a winner which never materialize.
