On Manasseh’s way to victory the former amateur golfer battled it out on the final day of the championship with the likes of Vincent Torgah also from the venue club, Tarkwa based Kojo Barnni and Emmanuel Osei. Their splendid strokes on the greens especially at the final three holes caught the attention of the few lovers of the game at the venue.

Speaking after receiving the championship trophy and a cheque of ghc 5000 cedis at the clubhouse, Manessah expressed his excitement following what he described as a hard-fought victory against some of the best professional golfers in the country.

According to the 2024 Golden Classic Championship winner, he prepared very well as he knew of a huge challenge from other golfers and promised to be better in the next qualifier of the PGA.

Vincent Torgah who scored 208 eight placed second and took home ghc 4000 as his prize. He described the tournament as very competitive, he praised the winner for his zeal and commitment to the game Torgah however mentioned that he will have to improve upon his game to welcome the latest stiff challenge from other golfers.

Emmanuel Osei finished third ahead of Kojo Barnni and Enock Kofi Owusu.

The senior’s category also played for two days had joint winners in Robert Allotey and Emos Korblah after they played 147 over the period.

The tournament director of PGA, Eric Henaku congratulated all the golfers for their performance, and discipline during and after the competition and stressed the PGA will need more sponsorships to stage tournament frequently across the nation.
