Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak after recording their heavy defeat in the CAF champions league to Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco got booed by name following their impressive run in the Ghana Premier League leading to the coronation as champions.
The Hearts of Oak gaffer who held his head up high after the lose promised to bounce back to winning ways and with different tactics.
The Continentals masters started their Ghana premier league defense against Legon Cities at the Accra Sports Stadium. The Branding Grandmasters, Legon Cities who sidelined Asamoah Gyan following his numerous injuries came into the game with another set plan to add to the woes of Accra Hearts of Oak but the game saw it different.
The Continental Club Masters despite dominating play failed to find the back of the net and shared the spoils in their opening for the title defense.
Legon Cities who played with more precision and focus deserved the point as they worked hard for it through out the ninety(90) minutes. The Branding Grandmasters, Legon Cities dictated majority of play in the second half with a resolute defensive line and goalkeeper who was ready to walk home with a clean sheet in Eric Ofori Antwi who after the end of proceeding was awarded man of the match for an outstanding performance.
Eric Ofori Antwi ensured his team stayed in the game saving two goal bound chances which saw both opposition fans cheering him on. Ibrahim Salifu in the second half hit the crossbar with a brilliantly taken free-kick as the Phobians continued to push for an opener.
Legon Cities in a whisker almost got the vital goal as Ricard Attah was called into action with a top class save to ensure the deadlock remains barren. For Accra Hearts of Oak who were coming from a heavy defeat, this is a step in the right direction although not a preferred performance but a performance that can be improved in the coming games.
