Every country is eyeing a place in Qatar to participate in the 2022 FIFA world cup and some teams have had their fates handed to them in the early states of the qualifiers.
The qualification stages of the Qatar 2022 FIFA world cup has been marred with many controversies both in Africa and Europe.
One such controversy erupted when the Ghana Black Stars hosted Bafana Bafana of South Africa in Cape Coast for the final and second leg tie of the world cup qualification.
Leicester City and Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey was brought down in the penalty box after which Ghana was awarded a penalty but the football governing people of South Africa and some of the technical team and players protested the call which followed with series of press briefings among other.
SAFA launched a protest against Senegalese referee Maguette Ndiaye alleging that the FIFA referee was bribed to ensure Ghana wins the match among others.
FIFA as an international football governing body responded to receiving the protest and launched an investigation into the matter.
After the long wait with SAFA expecting the match to be replayed and Senegalese referee Maguette Ndiaye, FIFA’s investigations saw things different and no wrong doing as they threw the case to the dust.
The decision from FIFA read,
“To Declare the protest lodged by the South African Football Association on
15 November 2021 inadmissible.”
