Accra Great Olympics have gradually proved themselves worthy of title contention and have been showing it constantly in their Ghana Premier League fixture almost making it look like a routine.
With the noise the surrounded their previous game against Accra Hearts of Oak, Accra Great Olympics silenced all their critics by numbing Accra Hearts of Oak by 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium in the Mantse Derby.
Their next mantle to climb was against Kumasi King Faisal who have also showed they are the comeback kings in the Ghana Premier league but this time as a different ball game.
The Wonder club without their talisman Gladson Awako still made their point noted that they have learnt a great deal from the prolific skipper and would on any day honour his absence.
Accra Great Olympics took a different approach to the game as they remained focus and study throughout until they were ready to unlock the King Faisal defense. 40 minutes into the first half, Charles Danso Otu opened the scoring for the home team and were on their way to another famous win at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Both teams went into the first half with Accra Great Olympics on the front foot. The second half started with little to show from the visitors as Samuel Ashie-Quaye added a second for the Wonder club. It was not time for King Faisal to unleash whatever plan they had for the game as time was not on their side.
Boateng Frimpong in the 75’ pulled one back for King Faisal and the staged comeback was set until Michael Yeboah added a cushion to their lead to hold off any planned play of King Faisal and pulling parity.
It ended 3-1 in favour of Accra Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadiums a win well deserved and propels them to the second spot on the GPL log.
