The job vacancy at the helm of the senior national team has always been backed by backlash ranging from selection, fielding of players and tactics on the field of play but the most dangerous and subliming part is the coaching playing to suit the streets than to actually implement what they have planned for the team.
In the past years, many coaches who have taken over the Ghana Black Stars job have selected players based on past performance with little scouting and also on public sympathy. This has been a defining factor in the success of every coach that has excelled in any team it been at the club or national team level.
Coach Otto Addo after been fired for non-performance has been given another chance after a woeful takeover by Chris Hughton and is former is even doing worse. With people hoping to see a urge in performance overnight, the gaffer who isn’t of himself has been left making selections based on public sympathy and not in time performance of qualifying players.
‘When a coach decides to drop players just because the supporters are asking for their heads, the supporters choice gives the supporters result’ and that is what the coach is suffering now. With limitations in tactics visibly shown on the pitch, the same supporters have been furious over the future of the coach whose return was supposed to be bringing a transformation in the team.
The Black Stars of Ghana in their last two games have secure a point where natives of same believed the team could have easily picked maximum six (6) points against Uganda and Niger.
The first played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Ghana and the latter at the Stade Municipal de Berkane. While football fans are furious about the results , the root cause of the problem remains unsolved.
With the African Cup and FIFA world cup at stake, fans who have plans are worried and not sure if this is a team to support. The football ideas of fans are not as the manager who has received a level of education to manage the game and that makes it worrisome to fans.
The rate at which the Black Stars have lost managers will be come as a surprise if coach Otto Addo is shown the exit sooner than later
