Dr. Ofori Asare, the Black Bombers coach ahead of the preparations towards the commonwealth games to be hosted in Birmingham 2022 has called for support for the team.
The Ghana national boxing team under Dr. Ofori Asare has seen many talents explore to their fullest in the world stage.
His recent achievements include sending a three man boxing team to the Tokyo Olympic games and coming home with a bronze medal. A medal that had been Ghana’s headache for over 20years in the international competition.
Coach Dr. Ofori Asare led Samuel ‘Ring Warrior’ Takyi to the Olympics games in Tokyo and his tutelage saw the enterprising boxer win Ghana’s only medal in Japan.
Ahead of their preparations for yet another competition where Ghana has made a name for itself, Dr. Ofori Asare has asked for support for the amateur team to ensure they are up to speed with their other competitors during the commonwealth games.
“During our preparation for the Olympics games in Japan, we had to wait until last minute for support and that accounted for some of the reasons we could meet up the target. We have to prepare and keep sharp for another equally important tournament at the Birmingham 2022 commonwealth games in the United Kingdom. We need support from the ministry, corporate bodies and individuals so that we can train the team without setbacks to win Ghana medals when they represent the country during the games.” said Dr. Asare.
With this said, we wish the Ministry for youth and sports, corporate and individuals who have the capacity to support come to the of the coach who has proved over the period that good preparations can lead to better results and his team.
