FIFA after the FIFA Best Award have been bashed by many after the FIFPRO 11 with many not understanding why some names have been left out both in the FIFPRO world Men’s XI and FIFPRO world Women’s XI.
Many of the players awards as best players in the categories they were nominated for still did not make the world XI and this left many in awe as they seek clarifications for what accounted for their omission.
Senegal and Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy won the ‘FIFA Best Goalkeeper award but Gianluigi Donnarumma Cavaliere OMRI, the Italian and Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper gets mentioned in the FIFPRO Men’s XI.
Liverpool and Egypt striker, Mohammed Salah is in the top three of the best just behind Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi but could not make it into the FIFA XI.
FC Barcelona Feminine will be the most grieved team as they did more than enough winning the ‘Women’s UCL, La Liga Femini and the Copa del Ray yet got no representative in the FIFA XI.
Alexi Putella, the best women’s player as adjudged by FIFA during the award is also out of the FIFA XI.
The question many are asking now is,
“Did they deserve the award for their performance under the year of review?
If they really deserved the awards, does it not qualify them to be part of the FIFA XI?”
