Xavi Hernandez needs more time to get his team gelling like he would want to after taking charge of Fc Barcelona. The Catalans have lost more points and widening the gap between their current position and the league leaders Real Madrid.
The Fc Barcelona known by many would on any day dismantle Osasuna but it was a different affair as Osasuna gave Fc Barca a run for their money.
Xavi after joining his former club has given Ousmane Dembele and many young players the chance to exhibit their talents but that has not been enough to give them the needed result to keep them competitive in the Spanish Laliga.
Barca started the first half as a typical Barca with their ‘tiki-taka’ causing lots of problems for the Osasuna defense and their persistence paid off in the 12th minute when Pablo Gavira laid a sweet pass that was connected by Nico Gonzalez.
The lead of the Catalans was short lived after David Garcia in the 14th minute equalized for Osasuna.
The first half ended with both teams a goal apiece.
The second half had a little drama as an attend to clear the ball by Gavira hit the arm of Sergio Busquets in a swift counter attack.
After a cross was sent in, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli in a calculated rocketed the ball into the roof of the Osasuna net to restore the lead for Fc Barca.
Barca defended their lines thence and ensured they cleared the ball far enough to make away with all three points but Osasuna put their feet of the paddle, pressed Barca forcing them into making some silly defensive errors.
From a corner kick, Osasuna took advantage after Fc Barca failed to defend their lines and played the ball into the path of Ezequiel Avila who weighed his feet before shooting towards goal, the ball on its way took a little deflection past Marc-Andre ter Stegen for an equalizer.
The game that was up for grabs for Fc Barca was now a game for the spoils to be shared.
