Ghanaian Table Tennis Player, Felix Lartey aka ‘Spider’ who was recently awarded with a sponsorship package from Stanbic Bank says his target is the ultimate gold medal at the upcoming 13th African Games to be hosted in Accra.
He acknowledged it would not be easy as Table Table in Africa is very competitive with top players from South Africa, Egypt and Nigeria also gunning for the gold.
The current top seed in Ghana in the absence of Derek Abrefa who is campaigning in the UK, said the Stanbic Bank support has inspired him and hopes to realize his dream as one of the best players on the continent.
He expressed that the package will take care of his preparations towards the upcoming African Games including tickets.
“I am very happy and want to thank Stanbic Bank and the President of the Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA), Mr. Mawuko Afadzinu who is also Vice President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) for his contribution towards the welfare of sportsmen and women.”
Lartey promised to do his best to win a medal for Ghana at the Games, and commended the efforts of the government, Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Sports Authority (NSA).
He appealed the media to promote Table Tennis.
