Right after James Frank Lampard assumed office as the new Chelsea manager, he realized things were more difficult than he would have expected as there was a player transfer ban on the team and had to rely on the youth from the Chelsea Academy.
With little to do in his situation, Lampard relied on the services of Tammy Abraham spearheading his attack, Mason Mount in the heart of midfield, and Fikayo Tomori shepherding the defense for the young squad.
Tomori was noted for his calm composure and ability to stop attackers in their tracks making the defending work look so easy until the transfer ban was appealed by Chelsea and lifted.
Tomori lost face with Chelsea boss Frank Lampard and started making the bench and gradually left out of the team on majority of occasions. With little said about the defender, James Frank Lampard stated the young lad had dipped in form and needed to put in more training to make his first team callup.
With many teams wanting the services of the young lad, Tomori still stood his ground and fought for his place in the Chelsea team as he started recording some playing time in the FA cup and other cups.
After AC Milan showed interest in the Chelsea Centre-Back, it was about time to let his off the hook to find his courage and confidence back elsewhere. Signing for AC Milan on a loan till the end of the season, they also have a clause in their respective contract that see to them buying outright the player after the loan spell.
As much as his young mates will miss his clam composure and speed in recovery at the back of defense, Tomori also need to find his place in active football and that is what drove for his move.
