The Ghana Football Association has since its inception been responsible for issuing media accreditation for its organized games and rather gives quota to clubs for their members but the norm seems to change once in every while.
Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko during their super clash at the Accra Sports Stadium have set a precedent that many are gradually bound to follow.
Accra Hearts of Oak played their first league encounter against Legon Cities with no noise about issuing another set of media accreditations since the GFA holds that mandate but after the Super Clash, Legon Cities who host GPL defending champions at the deplorable Elwak Sports Stadium have followed suit with a communique asking media to apply for accreditation to be admitted at the match centers.
In their release, it reads
“We are by this release informing our media friends that the Accreditation process for our game against Accra Hearts of Oak which is scheduled for Saturday February 26th, 2022 has begun.
Media houses who wish to cover the the game can send their requests to the clubs official email address, legoncitiesfc@gmail.com by close of working day on Tuesday, 22nd February, 2022. Requests should be sent on official letterheads only.
Due to the limited seating capacity at the El-Wak Sports Stadium, we can only accommodate 30 Media houses. We would entreat our friends in the media space to apply early to avoid any unfortunate mishaps at the game.

If the above is not contradicting the application process of the Ghana Football Association and is allowed for every club to open application process for their own media issued accreditation then the GFA should make it clear to the media so we know where to apply.
