Kumasi Asante Kototo in their first Ghana Premier League game drew and got many thinking, coach Maxwell Konadu was not up to the task and needed to be shown the way out but that isn’t going to happen any time soon.
Kotoko on their second GPL fixture went away to Berekum Chelsea and to a ground they have found a hard time picking all three points. The porcupine warriors started with their safest pair of hands Felix Anan who was on the day celebrating his birth.
The porcupine warriors opened the score in the first half after Kwame Poku blasted one parts the Berekum Chelsea goalkeeper. The game which has over the years been highly contested didn’t fail to disappoint as Felix Anan the birthday celebrant pulled three decisive saves to ensure his side remained in the lead.
Unfortunately, Felix had to take a quick break as he was stretchered off the pitch after picking an injury. Asante Kotoko remained in the lead with quality play until they started been complacent. With their technical team shouting tactics from the flanges, it seemed the porcupine warriors were going home with all three points as time rolled out.
Berekum Chelsea on the other hand have always had one or two tricks under their sleeves when playing at home against Kotoko and they punished the porcupine warriors when they least expected.
Emmanuel Clottey in the die minutes of the game drew blood for the home team in what appeared to have stunned the visitors as they had their eyes edging to the end of proceeding.
Kotoko has now picked two points in two matches and look on to an improved performance in their subsequent games. Kotoko new signing from Brazil, Fabio Gama was in the stands to witness the tenacity and heart needed in such games.
