The Ghanaian striker Jordan Ayew has been bashed by fans home and abroad for his recent goal scoring woes for Ghana and Crystal Palace but remains resilient and focused, added more input to his game and ensured he found the back of the net against Southampton in a 2-2 draw during an English Premier League fixture.
Jordan after his goal shared his relief and has since been praised by the name who lashed at him over his recent poor form.
After netting the equalizer to steal a point for Crystal Palace, Jordan Ayew has spoken about the support he received from his manager Patrick Vierra who has been helpful and very instrumental in getting him to put in so much work for the most needed goal.
“Since the first day the manager came in he told me he has big faith in me and believe in me and i should keep on working hard and it will come. It may take long but at some point it will pay off and today against Southampton it paid off. We’re all glad. Today there were negatives and positives but it think it was a good result.” said Jordan
With his goal securing a vital point for the team, Jordan whose joy could not be hidden added,
“Sometimes in football, I’ve been really, really unlucky and think today luck was on my side. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t work. It is just football. I control what I can control and the things I can’t control I don’t focus on it. I just focus on what I can control. Today it went my way.
I hope I continue to score, I hope so.”
