Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum after been announced as the new head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko was making waves across social media. Prior to his new appointment, Dr. Ogum guided West African Football Academy (WAFA) to finish third on the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League table with consistent performances against every opponent they faced.
After been handed over the job of gaffer following the dismissal of Mariano Barreto, Dr. Ogun has to build his team and assess his players before the start of the Ghana Premier League which is scheduled for the 24th of October.
The porcupine warriors as part of their preparations made a trip to the United Arab Emirates with three arranged friendly games to strengthen their squad and also help Coach Dr. Ogum carefully assess his players.
The club was scheduled to play Atletico Arabia in a friendly match, but the game was cancelled due to reasons technical issues but that did not deter porcupine warrior as they went on to play three other friendly matches.
Their first pre-season match was against Al Hilal United where the visitors lost by a loan goal. It was all fun as the porcupine warriors seemed to be enjoying themselves on the pitch with a free flowing game.
They then drew their second and third friendly matched against Laliga Academy HPC and UAF Lower tier side Liwa FC. Although the porcupine warriors did not win any of their pre-season friendly games during their trip to Dubai, coach Dr. Ogum stated, it is on of the refresher programs for the players and the technical team.
