Michael Amo-Bediako has been one of the industry drivers when it comes to boxing in Ghana with a leading promotions, Streetwise Promotions that has helped many boxers reach their futures.
Over the years, Streetwise Promotions have made numerous donations to many gyms in Ghana and celebrated many boxing legends in Ghana and are recognized from Ghana and beyond.
Streetwise Promotions are the promoters of Richard Commey, former World Lightweight Champion who has always been of the view that the GBA is doing little to nothing when it comes to supporting professional boxers reach the top but are always eager to share the spoils of their hard work.
Michael Amo-Bediako and Streetwise Promotions have been suspended indefinitely by the GBA after Richard Commey was given same.
In the letter date 17th January 2022, the GBA stated,
“The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) hereby formally withdraw your license and suspend you indefinitely as a boxing manager and promoter under the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) with effect from Monday 17th January 2022.
In accordance with Article 21 Clause (b) of the Rules and Regulations governing Professional Boxing in Ghana states;
All licensees are required to adhere strictly to the provisions enshrined in this ethical code of conduct and the Rules and Regulations that follow the breach of which shall attract any of the following according to the severity of the offense.
Following a viral video where Richard Commey voiced out what he deemed unfit in the running of the GBA, the boxer, his management and promoters have been banned indefinitely.
