With less than three weeks to the opening match of TotalEnergies African Nations Championship, Algeria 2022, Confederation of African Football (“CAF”) and Algeria Local Organising Committee today launched the official poster for the competition.
TotalEnergies African Nations Championship, Algeria 2022, will kick off on 13 January 2023, and the final will be played on 04 February 2023.
The official poster illustrates one of Algeria’s famous gates: the gate of Sidi Boumediène mosque in Tlemcen.
The story of the poster details the journey and fabric of the Algerian people: A symbolic place. A pure architectural jewel. The mythical gateway to the Sidi Boumediène mosque – located in Tlemcen, a city rich in heritage in El Eubbad – holds a special place in Algerian history.
Strong on emphasis on heritage values, the poster adopts orange canvas, a colour that reminds us of the warmth of the Sahara that rocks the south of the country and the scent of citrus fruits. Algeria is one of the World’s major producers of oranges.
And as every masterpiece must have a title, the official poster of the African Nations Championship bears the title: Marhaba_ (‘welcome’). Algeria welcomes Africa._
Let the party be beautiful! Let the party begin!
