Manchester United board have officially parted ways with former Manchester United player and Norwegian professional football manager.
Manchester United gave Ole enough chance to turn things around at the club and allowed for the manager to buy all players he needed to make his team workable.
The Norwegian brought in Bruno Fernandez, Jodan Sancho, Donny Van De Beek among other world class plays including former Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as a manager has been responsible for 168 games for Manchester United, out of this number, Ole has managed 92 wins, 35 draws and 41 defeats winning no trophies for the club since joining.
The board’s initial attempt to sack the manager was interceded by Sir Alex Ferguson, the manager with more than a history with the club who has witnessed some of the most humiliating score lines under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
After losing 4-1 to Watford on the English Premier league after the resumption from international break, the board could not wait anymore and and held an emergency meeting.
The outcome was swift and on point. Ole Gunner has been sacked as manager of Manchester United.
The club released a statement after parting ways with the Norwegian and the contents read,
“Manchester United announces that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has left his role as Manager.
Ole will always be a legend at Manchester United and it is with regret that we have reached this difficult decision. While the past few weeks have been disappointing, they should not obscure all the work he has done over the past three years to rebuild the foundations for long-term success.
Ole leaves with our sincere thanks for his tireless efforts as Manager and our very best wishes for the future. His place in the club’s history will always be secure, not just for his story as a player, but as a great man and a Manager who gave us many great moments. He will forever be welcome back at Old Trafford as part of the Manchester United Family.
Michael Carrick will now take charge of the team for forthcoming games, while the club looks to appoint an interim Manager to the end of the season.”
This confirms Ole is no longer manager of Manchester United with many wishing his farewell in his future endeavors.
