Richard Harrison Nii Lartey among other boxers were given bans by the Ghana Boxing Authority following their gross disrespect for the authority.
Richard Commey who will be fighting Lomachenko in the United States of America was also banned until recently when he send an unqualified apology letter to GBA which was accepted in good faith.
Ghanaian heavyweight Richard Harrison Nii Lartey on the other hand was slapped with a 5years ban for authoring the signature of the secretary of the Ghana Boxing Authority to be able to take on a boxing match.
With his five(5) years ban still hovering around his head, Harrison left the shores of Ghana with his team for a fight in Russia which was not sanctioned by the GBA with checks indicating his corner was representing Ghana.
The Ghana Boxing Authority(GBA) did not take this lightly as they added a hefty punishment to the previous five-year suspension imposed on the fighter earlier this year.
According to the new punishment contained in a GBA communique, Lartey must never be seen anywhere near a boxing gym in Ghana or be engaged in any GBA sanctioned event anywhere.
This will go a long way to hinder the fighter professionally as he requires GBA approval for sanctioned bouts.
