On Wednesday, 6 April, the first meeting of the new Executive Committee (EC) of the Slovak Sportwriters Association (in Slovak: Klubu športových redaktorov – KŠR) took place in Bratislava.
The newly elected EC chose the media manager of the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee, Peter Pašuth, as the new chairman. The long-time sports journalist previously worked as head of the sports desk of the SITA – Slovak news agency and deputy editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper Sport.
Michaela Grendelová from SPR Media agency became the vice-chairman of the KŠR, Svetlana Barátová from Slovak Radio RTVS became the secretary.
In the previous period, the above positions were held for many years by Tomáš Grosmann (chairman), Zdeno Simonides (vice-chairman) and Zuzana Wisterová (secretary). Neither of them stood for re-election to the Executive Committee at the General Meeting, which was held on 31st of March. Tomáš Grosmann, who has led the KŠR for 30 years, has become honorary chairman.
KŠR currently has 211 members, 103 of whom are also members of AIPS
