The death of football icon, Diego Maradona after taking a toll on the football world has be shaped into what seems to will last forever.
The Argentine football legend made history in football both with club and country. His death which took many by surprise have been diverted to immortalize legend by launching a font in the name of Diego Maradona.
In the November issue, Spanish football magazine Panenka will pay homage to Diego Maradona, one year after his death, and as part of this special issue, a font with Maradona’s handwriting was launched.
Available to download for free, the font “La Letra de Dios” (God’s font) is a product of the careful study of countless handwritten messages that Maradona dedicated to his fans, while signing pictures, footballs and jerseys along the years.
The font is present in the headlines of the 116-page issue and the magazine describes this project as ‘a creative license for eternity’.
“The hand that inspired a nation and the hand that wrote thousands of messages to his fans, now inspires this magazine,” they announced.
Last October 30 was the first birthday of Maradona since his death. Commemorations all around the world took place.
Maradona, who led Argentina to victory in the 1986 World Cup, died of a heart attack November 25 at a rented residence outside Buenos Aires following brain surgery two weeks earlier. He was 60.
His case was taken to court and seven people, including his doctor and his psychiatrist, are currently charged with involuntary manslaughter. Trial date was not yet announced.
