The Ghana Premier League table is gradually taking shape after the GPL Wk 8 matches were played.
Krobea Kumasi Asante Kotoko who started the league impressively have started to give away points in which has moved them from the top of the table to the third position with a game in hand against current champions Accra Hearts of Oak.
Dr. Ogum and his team took the league by storm after their three straights wins. This should have been a statement to the other teams in the league but that was only a bloated balloon that got touched by a sharp needle.
King Faisal stopped the Porcupine warriors at their home grounds leaving Kumasi Asante Kotoko blaming the centre referee for contributing to their loss.
In the GPL WK8 fixture, Kumasi Asante Kotoko hosted new old boys of the Ghana Premier League, Real Tamale United who were recently promoted to the premier league proper after years in the division one league.
The newbies who have only one motive, which is to stay in the GPL for next season came into the game with determination and persistence, discipline and ensured they played according to their technical head.
The opening half of the game ended goalless and seemed to will continue in the same stead but four (4) minutes into the second half, Dr. Ogum’s pep talk with his team during the break materialize as Krobea Kumasi Asante Kotoko found the opener as Franck Mbella put the ball behind the RTU goal keeper.
The visitors lifted their game and started to ask questions in the goal area of the Kotoko defense but Kotoko were holding on to until David Sandan Abagna marshalled Real Tamale United through the defense of Kotoko and through Razak Abalora to equalize for Real Tamale United.
After equalizing, Real Tamale United now took the game to the hosts in search of a winner, Krobea Kumasi Asante Kotoko were holding on with all they got as they trooped back in numbers to defend.
Stubborn Kotoko at the end of the day denied Real Tamale United of the three (3) maximum points as they settled to share the spoils.
