The Black Queens of Ghana after losing 2-0 in Nigeria against the Super Falcons promised to overturn their deficit come sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Following a release by their coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo stating that her team performed well despite their lose against against the Super Falcons in their first leg tie, they stand a better chance of securing qualification in their second leg tie in Accra.
The team had series of intensive training sessions in their bid to overturn their deficit accrued in Negeria but the Super Falcons had their own plan.
It was a game to watch as the Black Queens pushed fornan early opener, piling pressure on the visitors.
Tagoe-Quarcoo’s teams were not clinical in front of goal failing to capitalise on their early dominance which saw the first half end goalless.
The second half begun with the same pace from the Black Queens and their work rate paid off minutes after the restartm Adubea who was eager to put the Black Queens on the score sheet took her opportunity with calm finish.
Her determination almost got got the Black Queens a second goal moments later, but her the goal scorer’s header struck the bar.
With both team having a player sent off the pitch. The Black Queens of Ghana could only manage a goal failing to qualify for the next stages of the qualifiers.
