Firing of coaches in the Ghana premier league is currently following a trend which needs to be worked on. Legon Cities, Kumasi King Faisal, Accra Hearts of Oak, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Inter Allies have all axed their coaches following some bizarre performances by the team.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko was no exception as they booted gaffer Maxwell Konadu out after just 5 games. He has been under a lot of criticisms with lots of expectations but the coach constantly assured the club management of the gradual growing process which they were not ready for.
Kotoko lost to a better performed Accra Great Olympic and that constituted the reason for the termination of his contract as the head coach of Krobea Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
His departure created a lot of controversy as many attributed his sack as been lack of tactical discipline while others attributed it to dispute with the current management.
After parting ways with Mr. Maxwell Konadu, Kumasi Asante Kotoko played Dreams FC where they won by a loan goal. This made many conclude by reiterating that the former coach was not up to the task but also too early to start calling him out since his successor is yet to start the serious business of football and unwarranted pressure from the fans.
