The Italian Serie A has been competitive for the first time in 9yrs following the dominance of Juventus. Winning their night Serie A trophy, it was time for other teams to step up and this season has seen AC Milan pull their game up a notch to ensure the old ways of things change.
AC Milan currently on the top of the Serie A table has brought change to the entire game as they have given every other team in the competition a run for their money. With their in-form striker out of play, AC Milan are still dominate over teams such as Napoli and Lazio amongst others.
Their last meeting with Lazio was a determinant to whether they will remain on the top of the league standing as Internationale Milan was preying behind them with a point separating the two.
AC Milan in their resilience came all out and opened the scoring in the first 10 minutes after Hakan Calhanoglu swung in the corner from the left to be converted by Ante Rebic. It took the league leaders just 7 minutes to extend their as VAR checked for a potentially dangerous play against Ante Rebic the goal scorer which was adjudged a penalty. Calhanoglu expertly placed the ball behind the net for his first on the night and a second for AC Milan.
As play continued, Lazio were awarded their own spot kick as VAR check spotted an infringement in the box, Ciro Immobile struck the ball with intent but AC Milan shot stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma blocks it not far from Luis Alberto who pounced on the loose ball.
Ciro Immobile after the second half got his name on the score sheet as they held the league leaders to a draw in the 89’. With the visitors hopeful to take a point from the game, Theo Hernandez of AC Milan was also planning a stinger. After his two goal against Genoa to win a point for his side, Theo in the 90’ broke Lazio hearts as he meets a cross from Hakan from the left.
Lazio who have been fighting back all evening were now out of steam and had to settle foe the 3-2 defeat.
