Ghana’s sporting dominance on the world market has come through boxing and over the years, numerous gyms in and around Bukom and James Town have contributed immensely to this progress.
Wisdom Boxing Gym is one of the boxing gyms in Ghana has has produced boxing champions over the years, the coach and founder of the gym, Dr. Ofori Asare who doubles as the coach for the Ghana Boxing team, the Black Bombers has showed why he is the best after leading young Samuel Takyi to Olympic games glory as well as the likes of Jessie Lartey picking a bronze medal at the Gold Coast Commonwealth games in Australia, Abdul Wahid Omar at the Scotland commonwealth among other laurels.
Many boxing outfits have focused mainly on training individual both in the youth, juvenile and profession weights to box but Wisdom Boxing Gym has added education to their boxing learners to ensure they are abreast with modern ways of doing things aside boxing.
Dr. Coach Ofori Asare and his team on the 27th of October 2021 received a group of professionals from the Ghana Redcross Association as they undergone an intensive training with regards to first aid implementation among other essential medical assistance during an emergency.
Knowing boxing to be a very physical sport, it is always anticipated that injury is eminent and needs to be attended to as swift as possible.
The team of medics from the Ghana Red Cross Association took the members of Wisdom Boxing Gym through a series of educational training with experiments.
Present at the Wisdom Boxing Gym were Abdul Wahid Omar, bronze medalist at the 2014 Commonwealth games in Scotland, Junior Bazuka, the adjudged best heavyweight during the novice boxing tournament, Sarah Lotus Asare, Executive Secretary Of WBC Cares Africa Chapter, boxers from other gyms and instructors.
