Dear members of the media, We are pleased to inform you that the media accreditation process for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 in Sydney, Australia, is now underway.
The event will take place from 22 September to 1 October at Sydney Superdome and Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre.
Only media accreditation requests submitted via the FIBA Media Portal by the deadline will be considered.
The deadline to apply is Friday, 2 September 2022 (23:59 CET).

ON-SITE AND REMOTE COVERAGEAll media representatives, local and foreign, wishing to cover the event from the venue are invited to apply through the FIBA Media Portal. No other form of application will be accepted. Media representatives that are NOT planning to travel, but wish to follow the event remotely, are also kindly asked to apply via the FIBA Media Portal by selecting “No” to the question below:
HOW TO APPLY FOR MEDIA ACCREDITATION
- Log-in to the FIBA Media Portal or, if you are a new user, create a new profile;
- Select the Qualifying Tournament you wish to attend under the “My Events” section (to be found at the top of profile page);
- Complete all registration fields as necessary;
- IMPORTANT: you will be able to request a “remote coverage accreditation”. This accreditation type will allow you to follow the event remotely and have the opportunity to ask questions to players and coaches virtually during media availability (after the game and during post-game press conferences on Zoom). You will also receive additional content to support your coverage of the event from afar.
- Make sure that all tabs are filled out correctly and the information is saved. Following registration, you should receive an accreditation submission confirmation email.
Creating a profile or logging in to a previously existing account is not an application in itself; you must make certain that after you create a profile (account) you also proceed to apply for the event (as per steps #1-5 above).Your email address and password will allow you to access and modify your application form up until the application deadline. TRAVEL TO AUSTRALIA
International media planning to attend the World Cup in Australia will need to apply for a VISA to enter the country. Applicants are responsible for their travel visa, should one be required.
In addition, it is a requirement of the Australian government that all visitors are double vaccinated, by one of the recognized vaccinations in Australia.
