Fans and spectators have been on the rampage over the signing of Brazilian international Fabio Gama by Kumasi Asante Kotoko and their inability to retains Matthew Anim Cudjoe but the club’s CEO has always been at the rescue of the players and constantly backed their reasons for signing him.
Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah has stated Fabio Gama was signed to replace wonderkid Anim Cudjoe as they were unable to foot the USD$250,000 contract clause his agents were demanding.
Fabio got to Ghana partially fit and has been out of action, this got many to wonder whether the Brazilian was only signed to attract more supporter or for the marketing aspects of football.
As the anticipation of his debut grew, Fabio Gama was given the time to nurse his fitness to give his 100% when called upon. This wait was on the fans were not in for as they needed results and with the knowledge of many about the skills Brazil produces in terms of football, Gama has been the target.
Fabio Gama finally got his call up and debut for his new club in a GPL fixture against Medeama SC, a match that will further boost the confidence of the porcupine warriors ahead of their CAF return encounter with Al Hilal of Sudan.
Fabio the proposed playmaker came on as a substitute in the second half to continue from where Godfred Asiamah stopped. His inclusion to the game was not so significant as he made little to no impact at all on the game.
This adds to the 4th Kumasi Asante Kotoko has failed to pick all 3 points in four visits.
