Juventus under Andre Pirlo has not been sharp in attack and have not possessed the ball with greater majority as the team had been under their previous managers but Juventus has also come alive to win when it mattered.
Losing away to Napoli in the Italian Seria A fixture on the 13th of February 2021, Pirlo stated Cristiano Ronaldo after not scoring in competitive fixture comes into the next game with the mentality of goals which would help them in their next game.
FC Porto hosted Juventus in the UEFA Champions league round of 16 fixture and showed why they deserve to be in the run as former champions.
The game started with much promise from FC Porto took only a minute to find the back of the Juventus net. Wojciech Szczesny had no answers to Mehdi Taremi’s effort at goal as FC Porto took the lead.
With a goal against Juventus, Porto started to play from behind and try to catch the visitor on the break as they started to play from highlines in their pursuit for an equalizer.
The first half of the game ended with FC Porto in the lead and continued in the second half as Porto found the second goal in the first minute of the second 45′. Moussa Marega connected to a pass from Wilson Manafa to give his side a two nil lead over Jeventus.
Andre Pirlo looked disappointed as did Cristiano Ronaldo who is known for these games. FC Porto held their lines and defended effortlessly with minimal tackles which saw the side with no card throughout the game.
Federico Chiesa however gave a life line to the Italian giants after scoring a consolation goal in the 82′. With a second tie slated for Italy, Juventus still have a shot at qualifying to the next level should they pick a convincing win over Porto.
