After the outbreak of the global pandemic, many other activities were to on hold including contact sports. This went a long way to affect jobs and lives of many as they depended on the outcome of such events.
The world football governing body in their bit to make these times a bit easy for those affected allocated a sum of money to the leadership of the Ghana Football Association headed by Mr. K. E. S. Okraku to be dispersed among clubs and other stakeholders.
Its was shortly announced that journalists were to benefit from these funds to a tune of Usd$7,000 which would have to be invested in capacity building for journalist. GFA showed respect to the leadership of the Sports Writers’ Association of Ghana (SWAG) as it engaged them in deliberations on the modes of which these capacity building arrangements could be made.
On the 19th December 2020, the General Secretary of the GFA was present at the SWAG meeting where he explains a few things about their intentions and plans for SWAG as he reiterated, they need SWAG and its members to promote the game.
Mr. Addo Esq. continued to batter on the following points which accumulated applauds from the member of SWAG as he made known the intention of GFA to engage other top journos from other countries to come and share their experience with the members of SWAG.
