The numerous controversy surrounding the signing of Gladson Awako from Accra Great Olympics and his absence from the clubs activities for two months has cost the club a lot both in the local and continental competitions.
Winning the double to qualify for the CAF Champions league, Accra Hearts of Oak target man, Gladson Awako was signed with his experience both in and outside Ghana and could help the team challenge for the top honours but the stunning playmaker on personal reasons was not able to join the club both in training or any match.
Gladson Awako after solving all such issues he had personally has returned to training with his new club Accra Hearts of Oak and has promised to give all his best to ensure the club bounces back from their current form.
Coach Samuel Boadu the double hero for the club has stated that as much as Gladson Awako needs to be punished to serve as a deterrent for other players, they still need him in these times to compete.
Accra Hearts of Oak after been eliminated from the CAF champions league will face JS Saoura in the CAF confederations cup as well as prepare for their next Ghana premier league match.
Gladson Awako who has been spotted in training after returning has urged fans to support the team and also support him as his main aim is to support the team now that he is back.
With many asking whether or not he is the man to help turn things around, Gladson Awako has remained optimistic and reiterated, “I am only one player and I cannot do anything alone, we play as a team and win as a team and that is why Accra Hearts of Oak has always been a big team in Ghana.”
