The President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kurt Edwin Sampson Okraku prior to the start of the WAFU zone B tournament met with the team and tasked them to qualify for the U-20 AFCON tournament. The team with the zeal and determination promised they would do more than enough and did not disappoint.
With little to say, the Black Satellites did qualify for the U-20 AFCON that will be hosted in Mauritania and went on to win the overall award.
With joy and praises been showered on the players and management team, the Ghana government has promised as part of its contribution to the sports $100,000 (one hundred thousand USA dollar) to help the team in their preparations and as a reward for their tireless effort to win the trophy.
This goes a long way to motivate the players as they were motivated in as many ways while they were in Benin during the tournament.
