The United States of America faced off Mexico in the CONCACAF Qualifications to the Fifa world cup to be hosted in Qatar next year and and Christian Pulisic came on as a substitute to give his side the lead.
Half-fit Christian Pulisic has been managed by his club side Chelsea after recovering from an ankle injury. The industrious playmaker has proven over his playing period to be a game changer and he proved it once again after coming on to help his side break the deadlock against Mexico who were on top of the WC qualification table with 14 points prior to their match.
Pulisic scored few minutes after coming on and United States Manager Gregg Berhalter states,
“when we brought in Christian Pulisic, it gave the team a boost. Also, I think it put some fear into Mexico since they know his quality”.
USA are now level on points with Mexico after defeating the latter by 2-0 in their cracker.
Thomas Tuchel after watching his players performance for country added, “if half fit Christian Pulisic can put fear in a team like Mexico, then a fully fit Pulisic will be a monster on the pitch. I have managed him from Dortmund and now Chelsea and I can say he still have a lot to offer and I am happy he is playing for Chelsea.”
