The Argentine Striker before taking the difficult decision to end his football career has played for Atletico Madrid, Manchester City and currently signed with Fc Barcelona.
Few months after signing with Fc Barcelona, striker Sergio Aguero has announced his retirement from football at the age of 33 due to a heart condition. Aguero has not played since the end of October when he was taken off during the first half of Barca’s draw with Alaves after experiencing chest pain.
Aguero signed for Fc Barcelona from Manchester City after winning English Premier League title with them. With his contract set to expire and interests from other clubs including Real Madrid, Internationale Milan and Fc Barcelona, Sergio Kun Aguero saw out his contract to sign as a free agent for Fc Barcelona.
Kun Aguero joined Barca with an injury and had to nurse his injury while he watched his team from the stands.
For club and country, Aguero has scored 427 career goals and won 20 major trophies, including the 2021 Copa America over the summer. Aguero ensured he forge a reputation as one of the clinical and cool finisher during his 10 years spell with Manchester City where he won five Premier League titles.
In his press briefing, Sergio Kun Aguero said, “”This conference is to announce I have decided to stop playing professional football. It is a very difficult moment. The decision I have taken for my health; the problem I had a month and a half ago.
I have been in good hands with the medical staff. I made the decision 10 days ago after doing everything possible to have some hope of playing on.
I always dreamt about playing football, since I was five years old, I want to thank Atletico Madrid who took a chance on me when I was 18 and Manchester City, everyone knows who I feel about City and how well they treated me there.
I will leave with my head held high. I don’t know what awaits me in the next part of my life. But I know I have people who love me. I will always remember the amazing things.”
