France after been welcomed by Israel on a neutral ground for the UEFA nations league due to the unrest in Israel didn’t stop them from giving Israel a trashing. With Kylian Mbappe out on injury, France had no worries with finding the back of the net.
It rather seems easy for France as they showed quality and determination unlike in their previous games. The French captain being sidelined due to injury was no problem for Didier Deschamps as he counted on the likes of Randal Kolo Muani who cost them the FIFA world cup and versatile Eduardo Camavinga who repaid the trust.
France stepped up their game right from the start and had a plan they played to. As many wondered when Les Bleus were going to open the scoring, Real Madrid midfielder Camavinga latched on a pass from Muani to give the France the lead. The game looked comfortable for the visitors until Israel on the 24th minute drew back blood through Omri Gandelman.
The surprise on the faces of Les Bleus meant they had to power up and they did exactly that. Four minutes after the equalizer, Christopher Nkunku who has been on top form for Chelsea and eager to blow his balloon racked the back of the Israeli post to but France back in the lead, it was more than a goal for the Chelsea man as it also marked the beginning of his international scoring account. It didn’t end there as they saw the threat Israel posed going forward.
Les Bleus ensure they closed the game and secure maximum points and started pushing the hosts back into their own half.
Matteo Guendouzi who came on for Nkunku after the 70th minute continued the job of the Chelsea star adding his name to the score sheet eleven minutes coming on.
The goal market wasn’t closed for the French national team as they wanted to establish a commanding lead against Israel who have proven to be competitors in the past.
Bradley Barcola after analyzing his surrounding saw a chance to add to the score sheet as the two subs Barcola and Guendouzi combined to give Les Bleus the forth goal. With this margin the visitors now has the commanding lead and started to hold on to the ball until the end of the game.
While France were making Israel go fishing on the pitch, Italy were held to a 2-all draw by Belgium at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, Ireand won 2-1 against Finland, Austria trashed Kazakhstan by 4-0, Norway brushed Slovenia aside with 3-0 while Faroe Islands drew 2-all against Armenia.
